For the past couple of years I’ve been invited by an old colleague, Professor Scott Wright, to speak to a group of his students who are studying media and communications at the University of Melbourne.
Scott is usually working on something really interesting like online participation in China so it’s a great excuse to find out what he’s up to.
I also benefit from a chance to:
- reflect and bring together a few connected ideas that have been bubbling away for a year or so, and may not neatly fit with a client project
- refresh my skills presenting to an audience that I can’t really see or hear for much of the session (at 2am, on Skype)
- answer questions from a group of people I’d otherwise not have the chance to meet
Slides below from the latest presentation, although there isn’t much to read in isolation because I’m *trying to do better presentations.
This time I’ve been thinking a lot about the role and challenges of digital specifically within corporate communications teams, rather than marketing or internal comms.
